The Race for Mars!
So many people are now targeting the Red planet, governments, private companies, visionary entrepeneurs, but who will get there first? More importantly, who will try it first? Getting to Mars is fraught with danger. The recent failure of ESA even to land a probe on its surface shows us that just landing in one piece is difficult enough, nevermind the radioactive hell that human colonists will have to endure on the 9 month journey to get there! LIFE ON MARS? And if you do make it? A claustrophobic existence awaits you. Trapped inside, or underground, unable to breath or walk on the surface without a space suit. Hiding away from the relentless solar radiation beating down on its cold, dry, lifeless surface. Watching as your bone mass and muscle tissue diminishes, turning you into the weakest, least scary space invaders of all time. If you take the trip with Mars One, you won’t be coming back either. Which of you will be the first person to die on Mars? If you made it…. Thank the lords of Geekdom that my application got lost in the post.
